Xbox360 voice chat so small

Is there any configuration that I can change? I have the wired headset, and I set it to the max sensitivity, and I can barely hear other people. And when I talk, I basically have to yell for them to hear me and the mic is touching my lips. Did I do something wrong? Thanks,

Sounds like something is wrong with your mic if you can't hear anyone or be heard. Try setting up a Private Chat with a friend and mess with all of your settings until you're sure that you can't get it to work. If still no luck, either try to return it or buy a new one at the store.

JRich, it's not me wanting to hear a bunch of 14 yrs old screaming, it's me wanting to hear my friends. I always have the option to mute them, so it wouldn't be a problem.

PricklyPete, I setup chat with my friends and I can hear them, but barely, I have to actually focus to hear what they say, it's very small. Also, I have to yell at the mic in-order for someone to hear me.

It also seems that the game sound is so much louder than voice chat, it always drown out the voice chat.

wait a second here... sounds like you're piping voice through your speakers and not the headset if the game audio is drowning it out... if you're using the wired 360 headset, it would be a completely different sound channel sent through the speaker in your headset by itself.

Are you using an official headset?

Yes I'm using the official headset. I test both cases, piping voice to speakers and headset, both cases end up the same. Very small voice and low sensitivity. Now, I've read around and found that the included headset for Premium and Elite 360 are known to have the same problem that I am experiencing. So here's my next question, I usually play games with a headphone, is there anyway to get a good mic (just the mic, I want to pipe the voice to the speakers) for the 360? People recommend the Plantronic x30, but you need to wear it so I can't wear my headphone over it.

i think the Plantronic x30 is small enough to wear with headphones, but id like to know if the x30 works with a pc.
