i am not a pc fanboy, as i enjoy gaming on consoles and pcs

now that the anandtech team got their hands on one of these and found it was just a "physical rendering" of what may be the actual unit, i don't understand m$'s angle. they have created a lot of buzz for something that is not even real. i would like to say thanks to the anandtech team for a good review of what might be the xbox360.

am i correct when i intrepret that since they are using Apple G5 hardware, m$ feels the PPC is superior to AMD and Intel cpus? is the PPC that good of a processor? or is it because so many people hacked the xbox 1 since it had just basic pc components?

so basically all the xbox 360 is is software to run on Apple hardware with cute little wireless controllers?

m$ should know that no matter what they do, it will be hacked, end of story, especially with as much buzz at they are creating. there are enough talented people in the world that will get the little bastard and hack it till it is like the current xbox with all the soft/hard mods you can do to it.

anandtech noted the removeable hdd is a 2.5" hdd with probably some type of special connector - an adapter will be made.

it sounds impressive but why all the bs?

this is not to start a flame war and i don't know much about marketing, but to those who do know, is this good marketing? or aimed at more of the casual, ill informed gamers and not those around here are more of the knowledgeable type?

It's not just Apple hardware, it's hardware from different companies merged together to make a powerful gaming system. Have you seen the Ghost Recon 3 in game screenshots? They are stunning.

It's not Apple hardware it's custom IBM PPC and ATI video.

These are not multi-core G5 processors they are stripped-down simplified designs to cut costs, which could be done because unlike intel and AMD designs these chips don't need to be compatible with existing CPUs back to the 8086.

IBM is apparently also offering a cheaper licensing deal than intel or AMD.

In other words, by not running x86-compatible processors, Sony and MS were able to get designs from IBM that offer much more raw computing power for lower manufacturing cost.
