My local network at home is setup as such:

Internet ->
Arris Modem (comcast) ->
Linksys WRT54G Wireless Router

Connected to the Router are:

-> Desktop PC with WMP54G PCI Card
-> Xbox360 Wired with CAT5
-> Compaq Presario Notebook with both Wired and WPC54G

The Xbox360 is supposed to be able to connect to any machine with a uPNP server running on it so it can play MP3s over the network connection.

All of my MP3s are stored on my Desktop PC so thats where I start. Wired-to-Wireless. I installed their recommended app, Windows Media Connect, and share my music on it then go over to my 360 and try setting it up to connect to the Desktop PC. 360 does not readily see it... but my PC asks to allow a connection from the 360 so I do. The 360 still cannot see the PC. Same results after trying Twonky. It just wont connect.

After much frustration and contemplation, I grab my Laptop and store some MP3s on there then load up Twonky and plug it into the router directly with CAT5. Xbox360 sees the Laptop fine, is able to play MP3s off of it without a hitch.

I remove the CAT5 cable from the Laptop, activate the WPC54G, and try again. This time, same thing happens that happend on the wireless desktop PC.

This leads me to believe there is something in the translation of the wireless to wired signal that is getting fouled up... but I just don't know what it is.

Cliffnotes:
- Wired Xbox360 to Wired Compuer works.
- Wired Xbox360 to Wireless Computer does not work.

Any help would be appreciated, suggestions, solutions, whatever... Right now I'm using an iPod mini connected directly to my 360 to play music instead.
