Similarly priced, way better specs and a better console overall (aka PS3) will overtake it, and suddenly, game stores will see floods of people turning in their XBox360s for the better console. Then to compensate, Microsoft will market an XboxPortable, and it too will flop with the release of a PSP2. Microsoft just can't compete. XBoxLive is a joke. I mean it's a monthly fee to play games online, using your own connection! Maybe the PS2 online is lacking a bit, but at least when you pay for the console and the network adaptor, you are done. And to further that, look at all the crap left out of the first XBox. You can only play DVDs using and $30 accessory? The crappiest controller EVER (Dreamcast was better). And it still can't out perform a PS2. It's Microsoft all over. Crappy product, crappy performance and crappy sequel. Oh wait, it is Microsoft.
Uhoh, I hear the fanboy footsteps.
Unable to play the latest in cutting edge movie media (HD-DVD/Blu-Ray).

I admit it, I am a PS2/PSP/PS3 fanboy. But really, who cares. It's a better product overall, a more sound investment for the future of gaming, and is going to come in it's box with everything you could need. It's going to have the same and better games than the XBox360, going to have better techspecs, BluRay. Wait for a PS3, and then see the XBox flop.

This is why the Dreamcast failed (it didn't flop btw) you had a bunch of Playstaion fanboys sitting around saying that the PS2 was going to be the greatest thing since sliced bread.
Fact was that there wasn't much out there in the way of games until almost a YEAR after its launch but everyone fell for the hype and didn't buy a Dreamcast.

I have most of them from the Atari 2600 on up 🙂
since when did having better specs matter...I thought it was all about the games? Will the PlayStation fanbois change their tune this time around? 😛Originally posted by: cruiser1338

Where is Microsoft's competition today? IBM OS/2? Lotus? Netscape? Never forget the Microsoft Motto: If at first you don't succeed, throw more money at it or buy the competition!and suddenly, game stores will see floods of people turning in their XBox360s for the better console. Then to compensate, Microsoft will market an XboxPortable, and it too will flop with the release of a PSP2. Microsoft just can't compete.
You need a history lesson boy! Sony's original online plan was to have you pay a monthly fee FOR EVERY GAME and splitting that 50/50 with developers. They thought this was superior because only the good developers would be rewarded based on the market. Developers LAUGHED and said "let us control the pricing" and now you see that most devs chose not to charge--because THAT was the only way to compete against/offer parity with Xbox Live. Xbox Live a joke??? Their online play is FAR SUPERIOR to anything else not on a PC.XBoxLive is a joke. I mean it's a monthly fee to play games online, using your own connection! Maybe the PS2 online is lacking a bit, but at least when you pay for the console and the network adaptor, you are done.
PS2 and Microsoft both charged the same for the DVD remote. Sure PS2 let you control movies with a controller but the interface was kinda lame anyway. Most everyone who used it for DVDs bought the remote. And to further that, look at all the crap left out of the first XBox. You can only play DVDs using and $30 accessory?
No it wasn't!The crappiest controller EVER (Dreamcast was better).
Come again? Are you talking about Xbox or Xbox 360? You're wrong on either count...the original Xbox might not outperform PS2 at every level but it can at least match if not exceed its performance. And it still can't out perform a PS2.
Did you ever play Age of Empires 2?It's Microsoft all over. Crappy product, crappy performance and crappy sequel.
Exactly.Oh wait, it is Microsoft.
