well, my parents are building a new house, and its FINALLY near completion. we put a dedicated home theater room for movies, games, LAN (hehe), etc. well, since its gonna be with a projector and components and crap, couldnt the xbox360 replace some of it and use that to play things? or should we just go for regular 7.1 stuff...?

ideas/questions/comments...

i know, its a friday night, and i cant go out...dont have a car yet...>.<

What exactly would you want it to do?

Everything it can do real HT equipment can do better (with the obvious exception of its gaming ability).

No. The Xbox360 can act as an extender to a HTPC running Windows MCE. Beyond that it won't be replacing anything other than a dvd player.

7.1? I'm assuming you mean speakers... if so, how the heck will an xbox replace that? But for things like DVD player, PVR, movie storage , etc yes, it will, and mine will.

thanks guys...

we were planning to have seperate components for everything. maybe the 360 could replace the "tivo", dvd player, and MCE functions from the computer, as it says from lots of sites that the 360 can hook up to your computer and play back stuff...plus, halo baby! hehehehe...

I'm guessing it won't work at all, what with all the semen you people are getting on it. Can't be good for the circuitry... Seriously, coudln't you have posted this in one of the other 8,000,000 threads about the thing?
