Hello all,

I have the following TV.

Should I connect my XBOX via the component cables or use this special vport cable? I've included links to both the tv, and the special xbox cable. Also along the same lines would I get better quality hooking my 9700 to the component input via the ATI HDTV adapter or sticking with S-video. Currently my DVD player is hooked to the TV via the component inputs, but I would rather connect the PC via the component inputs, and use the VPORT for my XBOX. Any ideas? Good or bad.

Use the VPORT for the XBOX... it is basically a component connection retooled into a single plug.

Unless you have an HDTV, which you don't, component outputs buy you little, other than slightly better color serperation, over s-video. ATI's DVI to component adapter's true value is being able to output a true HD signal (480p/720p/1080i). Save $30 and stick with s-video for your video card.

So to summarize...

XBOX = VPORT
PC = S-Video
DVD = Component

Exactly what codehack2 said.

IIRC can be found at BestBuy for ~$20. Use the $5 off coupon you get with a gamer's GC.

I didn't see the vport cable at bestbuy.com , but I'll check again.

Never mind I found it, but it is sold out. Damn them
