XBOX video display problems

I have recently brought a used XBOX from an individual and I tested the XBOX at his place to make sure that the XBOX is working fine or not. He showed everything on his Plasma TV and it worked great.

I brought the XBOX home and connected it to my RCA TV and saw that everything was coming in black and white (The only difference is that I used a S video cable and that guy used a HDTV cable).

I am not sure what needs to be done. I have searched a bit and they have instructed for changing the mode, but I am not sure how that can be changed.

Can anyone please guide me on this problem?

I think there is some tpe of setting within the xobox os that needs to be changed. I had a cousin that got a DLP tv and had a delay issue with his box 360 and the old xbox. he had to set something in the xbox. not phiscally inside but some settings.

i know this will not help but maybe it will.
