Xbox Scorpio Variable Refresh FreeSync HDMI 2.1!

thats nice and all but HDMI 2.1 is currently in 0 display devices, the spec was only finalized in jan of 2017. based on how long it took to get 2.0 into things its gonna be years before its in consumer displays

they plan on getting part of it out in 2017 Q2 and the rest being in 2018 but its not gonna be fast

Good news, as much as I despise paying the HDMI consortium Tax, it's better to be ahead of technology rollout than behind it.

Will be important since that thing will struggle with framerates unless the turn down the IQ.
I don't think it will struggle too bad, at least until the next PS comes out, since it will be the Alpha console. The FPS will be limited more by the CPU than anything else, especially if its just derivative of Jaguar @ 2.3ghz. As a Monitor gamer Freesync is a nice addition!

8 cores @ 2.3 ghz = 18.4 ghz
I5 3570k @ 4.5ghz = 18 ghz

I dont think cpu will be a problem tbh as long as open world games continue to target 30fps and leaving 60fps for more linear "level based" stuff
