(Sorry if this is not a correct fourm to post in i picked one that looked similar to what im asking)

I just bought Counter-Strike for my xbox, and well I left it out of the case (dumb on my part) well apperently some drunk idiot friend of mine steped on it and it broke bye bye 50$. Well I dont really want to have that happen again so I've been looking around and these mod chips seem to be a solution for me. As of now though I have no clue as what one I need, I have a dvd burner so I dont think I will need to save games to the hard drive just burn them. Any help is greatly appericated.

Thanks In Advance,
Andrew

P.S - The grammer stinks I know I just got of work and I'm quite tired. (yes I worked on turkey day *sigh*)

Don't know if they still do it anymore, but in the past, you could send in the busted pieces along with your original receipt and the game company would replace it for a minimal fee (like $5).

Just go buy a new version from Walmart. Take the stickers halfway off, and put in your broken game. Take it back with the reciept and say you opened it like that. You'll get your money back 100%, no questions asked. Also, you'll have a new game. I've done this many times with a variety of items, works like a charm. 😉

It's alot less morally appalling then burning your own copies with a mod-chip.

Yes but in this case you own the game, you just have it on your hard drive.

Perhaps, but notice I didn't say anything about burning any copies...

Yes, but you'd be silly not to. If you're going to take the hassle of installing a mod-chip, you mise well get the full use out of it. If it wasn't for the fact that I'm such a materialistic person, I know I would...

If you don't have anything good to add/help then stop making comments, thats to all the azz hats above.

I can't help ya, but I was curious about the question and maybe a REAL answer. Good luck

I know for playstation 2 you can't play burned games online due to the DNAS checks. I'm sure Microsoft does the same thing.

You can't when the mod chip is turned on. You are then automatically banned from Live if you do (the serial number of your box, not your Live account). You can however still play on XBConnect

how long have you had the game? do you have the original receipt? why don't you just take it back and exchange it for a new one?

Get a chip from the Xecuter line.

There are also pre-modified systems available. Xbox-scene is a good place to start.

arrrghhh matey! take care of your stuff and stop the piracy, if you are too cheap to buy new games, do like i do and stay behind the curve, they always come down to ten bucks or so after a while.
