Yes, so strange to post console problems here.

Well, I was playing Fable for about two hours today, and, right in the middle of it, my XBOX freezes and reports to me that it needs technical assistance from Microsoft. The XBOX os loads fine, but severely chugs when I attempt to access the hard drive (which it apparently can no longer detect, as it reads the storage space to be zero.) No games will load (the error message occurs).

What could have happened? Did the XBOX overheat, or something more serious?
 
Ok, well, problem updated.

The hard drive is now being detected properly, after I called XBOX tech support and got the software reset code from them. However, now the DVD drive appears to be having difficulty reading anything (even my brand new Fable disc). Hopefully, this is heat related and might go away with time.

I really don't know what the problem is. Hopefully heat, but, if anything else, XBOX components don't come cheap.
 
... no but considering worse case you can get a whole new box for $150, and sell your old box to someone looking for parts...
