XBOX or PS2 - Just asking for info on both....

My daughter is asking for a PS2, but I hear allot of good things about the X-Box.
Which one has better graphics? Would be the better purchase for my $$$.

I figure when she isnt using it at my house, then I will be on the thing playing games.....

Any tips are appreciated!

Yea, I would say Gamecube is the way to go 🙂

But if its set between those two choices, go XBOX! PS2 sucks!

I prefer the PS2. Sure the XBOX has better graphics and the hard drive but look at the number of PS2 games. For younger kids, GameCube is probably a better choice but Nintendo has not released nearly enough titles and who knows when they'll pull the plug on the GC for a newer system.

part of the equation?

You might be better off finding out why she wants a PS2 in the first place.
If its for a game that you can only get on that platform (Final Fantasy for example),
then it would be a mistake to get a different console, no matter how much
it may roxor over Sony.

gamecube is the best for 2 reasons:

zelda
mario kart

but if its between xbox and ps2, its a toss up. find out what games she wants and figure it out from there...

I'd go with xbox, but thats just me

I know why she wants one...becuase all her friends talk about wanting one..
I didn tforget that part of the equation...thank you very much.


I was thinking if she wants a console just to have one, why not get the one with the best bang for the buck...

xbox can do alot more if you want to mod it.

but ps2 has GT3 and GT4 coming..

Xbox has FAR superior graphics and at the same price, that in my head makes it a better buy for the money. Other than the Gran Turismo series and a few RPGs, all games are shared across the three consoles anyway. Take the one that shows them off the best. 🙂

Ask her why she'd want a PS2 specifically over an Xbox. I think that the xbox is better technology. It's a year newer, costs about the same, and just offers more hardware-wise. It's got superior graphics (albeit not by a huge margin), has a hardrive, has xbox live (PS2's online pales in comparison), has better DVD playback features, etc.
