XBox. I got a GC the day it came out, had all the "good" games except for Pikimon (or whatever it's called) and I never played it except for Super Monkey Ball. The XBox I play almost all the time though. I guess I just like more adult games now.

I am kind of suprised this got a warning from a mod :) I mean it's being kept pretty civil and was stated pretty well as a question, guess it is just one of those topics :)

As for my input, I love my Xbox I originally got it with the intentions of selling it (because I got a retardedly good deal on it, the console plus 2 games for $265 no tax) but I would have a VERY hard time parting with it. don't get me wrong though I love Super Monkey Ball but other than that, I am not a big fan of any of the current or future Nintendo games. I am not into Anime and I like gritty reality vs. (no offense intended I know these characters are a staple of ones youth for some people and thus have a warm place, but I always liked SEGA, hehe) cartoonish (I hate cell shading, ack what a terrible idea, even on the Xbox games).

Anywho....good luck with either one, ima go play some more UFC: Tapout :)

G A M E C U B E ! ! !

i'm pretty sure xbox games would be playable on pc by the end of this year.
on the other hand, you can't really do much with those minidisc nintendo is using other than on their machines.
not to mention xbox is a ps2 wannabe so since you already have a ps2, there is no reason to get a (fake-ps2 = xbox).

xbox.

or perhaps just buy both optimally, why artificially limit your selection of games. :)

gamecube to me is basically for kiddies, i'm not sure if nintendos totally gotten over their censorship of violence and adult content, and its true costs are hidden. eventualyl they'll release a hd addon for mega bux, a modem for more, and the memory cards are tiny and you will need many if you do any amount of gaming.

i think an example of censorship would be doom on the gba:p green blood(yes so kiddies won't think its blood.. yea right:p, and no gibs)

i thought ms made a deal with gamespy?

While I agree that the Gamecube has a lot of kiddy games, there are definitely adult games making their way to the cube.

Examples:
Metroid Prime
Perfect Dark: Zero
Resident Evil Series
BloodRayne

And that's just to mention the few that I've been keeping track of.

Also, there's going to be the Nintendo classics being released sometime this year.
These games include:
Star Fox Adventures
Turok Evolution
Mario Sunshine
Zelda

This is going to be a very fun year for all Gamecube owners. This is the only system that I know that can fulfill everyone's gaming desires.

Oh, and sometime Nintendo will release Mario Kart of the Cube. No word on the exact release date, but rumors are flying that Sonic (from SEGA) might be a driver :Q:D:)

XBOX, because This Title (Project Ego) is going to kick so much a$$ it isn't even going to be funny.

Besides... Halo is really good as well.

Edit: You have to click on "games" on the bottom to see about Project Ego.

I'd go with xbox because the dvd player would he me out in my case and provide the most advanced platform while doing so. Pick the one that fits you the best.

Gamecube ...if you have friends

X-Box ...if you don't already own a computer, which you obviously do.

Gamecube is honestly the only console that even interests me. The multiplayer games cannot be beaten.

X-Box doesn't have a killer app, and won't have any killer aps for quite a while because anything that's successful will be on the PC, also.

PS doesn't intrigue me because:

1. I don't like Japanese-style RPGs so most of the FF series is out. I prefer Baldur's Gate/Ultima open-ended RPGs rather than being told what to do and what order I should do it in.
2. I'm not a big car guy, so the previous 'killer app' GT3: A-Spec didn't interest me much.
3. Metal Gear Solid sounds like a good game, but I wasn't a huge fan of the first.

If you have a highspeed connection, definitely get an xbox. I am at college and playing 16 player halo over the lan is SWEET. My studies have been going down the drain the last few weeks because we've been playing all the time. Plus you can play over the Internet using gamespy for free. I've barely even played any pc games lately. Oh well, can't talk now, gotta get back to halo before I get sniped.

If you really don't want to go wrong, buy a Dreamcast, PS2, GameCube, AND and X-Box...it'll be good for the economy (just charge the suckers)...

Why the Dreamcast is good:
1) Great games on an ok platform
2) The hardware and games are cheap
3) You can run Linux on it

Why the GameCube is good:
1) It's tiny
2) Nintendo-only games
3) Gameboy Advance tie-ins
4) Saves Electricity

Why the Playstation 2 is good:
1) PS1 Compatibility
2) The widest game selection
3) It's not made by Micro$oft

Why the X-Box is good:
1) Cheaper - you pay for the DVD remote, but needing to buy $50 in memory modules to save your point in a $40 game is a scam.
2) Resale - you can sell even a crap title from Microsoft (Azurik) for more than you can sell a Great PS2 title for.
3) Loss leader - Microsoft supposedly loses money on each console. Buy one and only use it to rip and play back CDs in the garage.

Check out the game availability now and in the future. Decide which is most important to you, then make your console choice. Only you know what YOU want.

Definitly gamecube, and there is no way Nintendo is going to lose that lawsuit! They have warnings in every instruction manual.
