Booted up my Xbox to a your controller needs a update message. Once done I was greeted by the new UI.

Like it better than the old one so far. Being new to Xbox One I really didn't have a chance to get used to the UI. Been a week or so for me.

Controller Config app is included.

Been in the beta since the second wave. It's definitely faster, not a huge fan of the location of my personal pins. Double tapping the Nexus to get to the side menu bar is my least favorite gesture, would have preferred a long hold or something. The new OneGuide is nice. The location of Apps/Games is awful and they've said they'll update it soon. Controller batteries drain at 2-3x the rate they did before.

It works for me. Easier to navigate and use, although still not 100% intuitive. Still takes a few minutes to figure out how to navigate to where you want to go and get there easily.

Give me tiles, games in a games folder, apps in an apps folder, settings in a utility folder, etc. Make it simple to use and intuitive and they'll have a hit.

Seriously this is the most important thing to show people on their console. Their games and apps. Put that up front and push all the other crap to the side. If I want to see who's online or the latest news I'll go look for it. I don't want advertising on the home page. Right now I have an ad for tomb raider, NFL, and games with gold. To me that's annoying, I want my games folder there, my media apps, and then a tile to go to view my friends. Why do I have to dig and open an app to find the games I own? It's like they just want you to buy stuff

At least the PS4 doesn't have ads posted on the home screen.

it can't be any worse than what has been on the x1 since launch. the whole interface is just terrible. it's a huge step back from the 360 imo. i haven't seen the update yet though.

ps4 is so much better. it's not fancy or anything, but it's fast and clean and straight to the point.

The new interface is cleaner and I like the look better, especially the friends on the sidebar now. However they still have ads posted on your home screen and you need to scroll down quite far to get to your pinned tiles(isn't the point of pinning tiles to be able to access them quickly right up front?). In those pinned tiles you will find an app that loads up to show you what games and apps you have. Makes no sense. I need to open an app to find what apps and games I can use? I guess I could use the kinect but what about people without kinect to open it directly? Seems kind of backwards.

Snapping and pins can be annoying, as well as the multitasking as a whole. However, the games reboot after a crash/process kill much faster, and party invites and joins are a lot faster. Those are more important than the negatives, so it's overall been a minor upgrade for me.

I haven't had an issue so far and I've been in the beta for awhile. I play literally one game 95% of the time (Fifa 16) so, finding other games isn't an issue and even when I need to I just use the Kinect.

Surprised the idiots of Redmond haven't offered hotkey on the controller to launch your preferred game/app.

It works but it feels like something is missing or is just too plain. The top text menu bar just doesn't fit in.

I honestly like the PS3 menu if it were arranged a little differently. It would be better if your games were closer to the left than right side.

I don't really care, as long as it's fast and everything is somewhat up-front for me to access. I'm not as passionate about it as a lot of people seem to be...

It's OK, not any faster than old UI that MS claims it to be. It's still a little bit of a chore to navigate around though, I've always wanted the list of games right on the start screen as I turn on the system. Also I think it reduced the effectiveness of multitasking a little.

Where is it slower for you? Every task, especially gaming related (seeing what friends are doing, starting parties, etc) is faster for me. Apps aren't any faster but that wasn't their goal.

Out of the last two generations of consoles, including handhelds, the XB1 is the least favorite of mine. The update may be "better" but doesn't do it for me.

Hm, I wish Kinect voice search was better, but it's still an absolute waste of time to use it. I was trying to be lazy and get it to go to the Lumines Live page (since it's one of the backwards compatible games), but I ended up having to type it out. :'(

Never done any BC stuff, don't have any installed, so I can't comment on it. It might be that BC games aren't supported by Kinect voice search, /shrug. It does a solid job of what I tell it to do (go to Halo, record clips). The tracking is piss-poor, though. It ruined any chance that Kinect Sports Rivals would be a passable game.

My son said the new UI is quicker for him. Bought on launch, did the gamestop trade in for Halo console.

Tomb Raider crashed to dashboard on me last night which is the hick up I've had so far. Would be nice if they add some customability I the near future.

Xbox One looks to barely hang with the new Tomb Raider.

Sometimes the Kinect is a little slow to recognize me and log in to XBL

Yeah, it pretty much never logs me in. It always brings up the menu saying, "Let's find you in the room so we can get you next time!" Yep... never works the next time. :p

Mine did this until I reset my Kinect log-in data. I think at some point a few bad scans put enough incorrect info in the model that it could no longer recognize me.

Not a big fan of this update. I thought the old UI was fine for finding stuff. This one not so much.

Over time I am sure the new UI will become familiar enough. And I am sure by then those Geniuses will come up with another new update. Oh well...

Slower? I'm not sure what way you read my post but I said nothing like that, I just said it doesn't seem to be any improvement from the old UI, it just feels the same but looks different.

I like it overall, but snap TV seems to lag now. sup with that?

I mean, the video in the snap tv box seems to stutter.

I love the BC update though. I got super meatboy, shadow complex, pacman, ikaruga, and hoping they bring more or the rest of the XBLA library. That's what I really want.
