XBOX One S Prices

I doubt the actual price will go up, but you wont find as good of bundles I don't think. No way of knowing for sure... if you like the prices right now I would just go for it.

The retail price is still $300, but as mentioned above right now is THE best time unless you want to wait next year. It's on sale for $250 everywhere, actually $180 (for the non-S) off MS Store. I feel that Target's price is the best. $250 One S (Battlefield or Minecraft) + $30 gift card + 15% off (CartWheel coupon app) or $212 + $30 Target gift card.

Plus if you're gonna wait a year that will be time for Scorpio and it might make sense for someone to get that instead of the S at that time.

Newegg no longer has the GC included in the bundle... I was thinking of getting that, since I don't pay tax at Newegg. Oh well, I probably wouldn't play it much anyways.

Prices will probably plateau and remain steady after the Holidays. Unless sales really start to decline I doubt they will discount them much until maybe the next Black Friday.
By then people will be talking about the console that replaces the Xbox One S.

This past Black Friday / Cyber Monday was probably the best bundles we will see for this generation. I doubt they make much profit per unit so the incentive to make many more units is probably not there.

To be clear, project Scorpio won't replace the S. It's in addition to. All games will function between both consoles.

Looks like Newegg's latest deal is the Xbox One S game bundle with an extra wireless controller and 12 months of Xbox Live Gold for $250... Hmm, should I bite?

I think Xbox Live is a must have with Xbox... you get free games every month (and this month includes Burnout Paradise... GREAT game... although not all months are so hot...) and I think the multiplayer experience it provides is worth an entry price.

I'd probably value the 1yr at $30-$40 depending on what deal you wait for. The extra controller is easily another $30 so that sounds solid.

Hmm, I'm only seeing the controller thrown into the Battlefield 1 bundle and the Minecraft bundle, no XBox Live Gold in either.

Decided to bite, because why not...

Besides 4K BluRay, I personally can't think of a reason to buy XB1 after MS decided to release Forza Horizon 3, Gears games, Quantum Break, etc. on the PC. Halo 5 isn't even good. The minute MS announced that XB1 exclusives would be available on the PC, the console lost any value it had for me.

For you personally yes but not all of us like playing games on a PC.

That is a fantastic deal. I wish we had something close to that up here in the Great White North. Merry Xmas!

I have my reasons for purchasing, not going to use it just for gaming...

How close are you to upstate NY? I wouldn't mind a trip to Niagara Falls, might be able to bring an Xbox One S across and play some table games at the casino...

That's not really true, although it depends on whether Scorpio does well or not (and I guess in some sense the Switch). Unlike the PS4, MS isn't mandating that games work on both consoles (although I do think Sony is waffling on this). So if Scorpio is a hit, I could see developers dropping the XBone.

They have said that there wouldn't be exclusives unless the developer decides to do it. This is not much different than the PS4 pro getting updates and patches for games to take advantage of the extra power. Developers will probably work on both platforms because not everyone buying an S or who has the original model will buy the new console and that's a huge number, probably 20 million customers.
