Xbox One questions (upgrading from 360)

Hi all, in my house, we have 3 Xbox 360 systems. A common one in our basement and each of my 2 kids (twins) has one in their bedrooms. Their birthday is coming up and they want a couple of games. I was thinking of also upgrading them and getting an Xbox One system (not three of them, just ONE) :) I would likely sell off 2 of the 360 systems and only keep one in case all of their games aren't part of the upcoming backwards compatibility updates.

They each have an Xbox Live account (as do I for some downloads). They each used to have their own Live Gold accts, but they just expired last week.

Anyway, a few questions:

1.) I read that for Xbox One, a benefit is that if I buy a 12-month Live Gold subscription, it is tied to that box and then all 3 of our accounts will work with Live Gold. Is that true? Buying one gold subscription per year that they can both use would be better than two of course.

2.) Can their existing Xbox 360 chat headsets work with the new Xbox One controller? Or will I need an adapter? Should I wait until next month and get them this? http://www.amazon.com/Xbox-Chatpad-Chat-Headset-plugs-directly/dp/B0136JPA56

3.) Is there really a benefit of getting the 1TB system? For $50 less, I can get the 500GB and then attach an extra 500GB or 1TB USB 3.0 portable drive (I have a couple that are no longer in use for computers).

4.) Aside from a 2nd controller, any other key accessories I should consider getting them? Thanks!

1. Yes, that is true.. one gold account on your one and all the accounts on that xbox will have gold status.

2. This one, you can buy an adapter... I don't game online that much so??

3. Not really unless you internet usage is capped. Your kids can download games from the disc to the HDD or digitally download. If they aren't using the game, just delete the games. If you buy games digitally they are all saved if you delete them for future downloads / play.

4. If you like driving games, Forza is awesome, I would highly recommend a steering wheel / playseat. Other than that not really.

If you're willing to part with the one in the basement you can wait until Gamestop or Best Buy have a good trade in offer and get like $150 off towards the purchase of an Xbone. That's probably more than you'd get for a used 360 on Ebay.
