Xbox One
Unlike Xbox 360, the Xbox One does not have a menu option to clear cache on the console. Instead, follow these steps to clear cache on an Xbox One:
Press and hold the power button on the front of the console until it powers down completely.
Unplug the power cable from the back of the console so that the power brick in not connected to the console.
Press the power button on the console three or four times. This will ensure that any remaining power in the battery is drained, clearing the cache on the console.
Plug the power cable back into the console.
Wait for the light on the power brick to change from white to orange.
Turn on the console using the power button.
And what was M$' response to this issue? Pretend it isn't happening until a million units are affected?
Common issue. My xbone started doing this about a month after I got it. If you hold the disk for an extra half second when inserting it it will read the disk. Has been doing this a while but still works fine.
Common issue because you have it? Hardly
If you took the time to search you would see its a common problem. Maybe common is too strong.
I and two buddies have this issue as well. If you look online its been an issue for some independent of the recent update that seemed to make it worse for some.
My xbone works and is fine. The drive is super sentifive to reading disks. If I dont feed it just right it wont read.
BTW do you work for ms?
My Day One Edition does this too. Hold the disc an extra second and I am good. The issue is well known. Microsoft should do a recall. It also skips sound once every half hour or so. Very annoying. Does this in all apps and games.
For some reason Blu Rays won't read at all. I am 90% sure that it has a blu ray player. Never tried until this weekend. It just goes to a black screen. Had a screaming baby who only likes Cars the movie and I was quite frustrated trying to get it to work.
Just to make sure, I'm pretty sure you had to download an app to watch Blu-ray movies on the X1. You have that, right?
Yeah that's it...I work for MS because something I've never heard about and didn't find mentioned on other forums I visit is labeled a "common issue" and I said it's probably not common 🙄

OP: More importantly, have you tried Microsoft service yet? How'd it go?
