M$ is dumb. Instead of making a more expensive console, they should make a cheaper one and then optimize the hell out of software because they are a SOFTWARE company. How stupid can they be?
See the whole point of PC has been "bragging rights"

MS software is a complement on top of that

& if you look at it, valve's emulation was faster than windows native, lol

LOL, you can only optimize software so much.
They already have DirectX and thus the requisite low level knowledge of the hardware. The next step would be designing an engine that's better than Unreal. It benefits their partners and it automatically makes development on their platform an experience that developers look forward to. They could have different branches of their engine, like a branch for RPGs, a branch for sports titles, a branch for FPS games, a branch for racing games etc. They have so many studios with competent technical people. If anyone can do it, it's them.

From the horse's mouth:

Microsoft is working on next gen Xbox console(s)

The announcement of the ROG Xbox Allys and Xbox’s partnership with Asus also sparked some confusion over whether Xbox was out of the in-house-made console game. Bond confirms the Xbox team is still hard at work on its next-gen consoles, the follow-ups to the Xbox Series S and X, and there’s even the possibility of internally made handhelds.
“We are 100% looking at making things in the future,” Bond said. “We have our next-gen hardware in development. We’ve been looking at prototyping, designing. We have a partnership we’ve announced with AMD around it, so that is coming. What we saw here was an opportunity to innovate in a new way and to bring gamers another choice, in addition to our next-gen hardware. We are always listening to what players and creators want. When there is demand for innovation, we’re going to build it.”

Kepler estimates $1200

My guess — whatever the price of a 2027 NUC with a 5070 ti or 5070 ti super but slightly cheaper than that

Vote for your prediction here

Kepler says $1200
Adroc says $600

Assuming performance is around a 5070 ti super, & launching in H1 2027, what do you think the price will be
