xbox newb here

I haven't played a game since December when I sold my gaming rig. I miss games and can't afford a new rig right now so I'm looking at consoles. I haven't owned a console since the N64(had a nintendo DS but sold it).

I was looking at this deal at walmart since best buy is sold out online of xbox systems and have a few questions.

I've read somewhere before that hao 2 comes with a free subscription of xboxlive? What I am wanting to do is play halo 2 online, that's all.

If I bought that package above, would it come with a free trial/subscription or would I have to buy the xbox live kit that comes with the headphones too?

this kit doesn't come with xbox live (doesnt seem to)

edit: dont you still need to buy the live equip?

ok, i just thought halo 2 the game came with a free trial....

halo 2 comes with a 2 month trial. i actually have an xbox live 1 year card and a headset i am trying to sell if you are interseted. i'll edit this with more information once i find the FS link.

Halo 2 along w/ every other Live game comes with a free 2 month trial to Live. You just don't get the headset, which you can purchase seperately or not at all.
