So, I recently got my hands on a v1.0 xbox, and I was gonna mod it into a media center hopefully. I see a ton of different mod chips available, many with solder-less solutions, which is perfect. In the long run, does it matter which chip I get? Will they all let me install the same software (evox, xbox media center, ect.)? Any particular one you would reccomend? Any info is apprieciated! Thanks =D
 
Gonna go out on a limb and say this'll get locked before you get what you're looking for. I'm sure there are places out there that could provide you this type of info.
 
Is mod chipping really even necessary anymore? I'm seriously considering soft-modding my XBox rather than cracking the thing open. Are there any advantages of a chip mod versus a soft mod?
