After about a total of 10 hours working on a solution I figured it out. Here is the solution if you are using the wrt54g linksys broadband router and the linksys wireless ethernet bridge(wet54g). Bring up your web browser and type in the ip address of your the wrt54g (default 192.168.1.1). Click the security tab. Enable DMZ Hosting and type for the DMZ Host IP Address the address of the wet54g (default 192.168.1.226 - I suggest to change the ip address of the bridge to 192.168.1.254 and make sure the bridge has a static IP. To change these settings open your web browser and type in the address of your bridge). Make sure the settings of the router and the bridge are the same (they have the same channel, same mode (mixed/G-Only), same ssid, ssid enabled/disabled, and wep enabled/disabled. Go to the setup page of the router and click the status tab. Where it says LAN write down the subnet mask. Also aquire your gateway (the routers ip address - 192.168.1.1). Scroll down to where it says Internet. Get the first and second DNS numbers as they appear in order. Now go to your XBOX. Connect your wet54g to your XBOX and then turn on the wet54g and the XBOX. Go to settings and network settings. Here you should MANUALLY input your network settings. Go to IP Address and for the IP Address you need to assign a static IP Address (I recommend using 192.168.1.50). Then enter your subnet mask and gateway. Make sure you do this manually because if you tell the xbox to retrieve your setting automatically then your router will assign a DYNAMIC IP address to the xbox and it will not work. Then, MANUALLY input your DNS information. Enter your primary DNS and secondary DNS respectively as it appears on the status page of the router. If you choose the automatic setting it will not work, even though it has the same information inputed as if you manually entered it. Skip the PPPoE setting tab and the advanced tab. Now try to connect. You should be able to. If you are not able to connect your bridge may be having trouble communicating with your router. To see if this is the case(for Windows XP) go to Start, Run, and type in 'command'. Then type in ping, then hit the space bar, and type in the ip address of your bridge. It should look like this(using my bridge's ip address)- 'ping 192.168.1.254'- without the single quotes, of course. If you have any questions email me. My email address is
