xbox live taking my credit card

When I signed up my xbox live account they required a credit card. Am I going to get billed in a year? Can I stop that somehow?

Yes you will be billed. Yes you can by canceling before the 1yr is up.

I cancelled mine a month early so i would rememeber and wouldnt get charged

I got Live a year ago, used it for a few months, then after I modded my Xbox I haven't used Live, but I just saw on my credit card statement online that I was charged :

do you think if I call they will cancel the renewal, if they can see I haven't logged in for over 6 months? If not, I'm gonna have to call AMEX.

I think I saw in another post that someone hadn't logged-in for several months and MS was nice about it.

I called and cancelled after I got renewed. I told the guy that I haven't logged in for a few months and supposedly got my money back...though i haven't seen a credit back on my credit card yet.

Never bothered to cancel. I got it when I was still living with roommates and the big reason was that one of the guys wanted to play Phantasy Star. So he put in his card number. Because of the aditional monthly bullsh1t, it went to waste.

Anyway, never botered to cancel, but he cancelled that card anyway.
