Do I have to give MS any info or Credit card number?
If I buy the kit at the store does it only require the ID # to connect?
When the 1 year subscription expires do I need to give them my Credit Card?
Do I hook my cable directly into it or do I have to pass thru the cable modem first?

Yes they need a credit card. Yes you have to connect to a network cable from your modem (or router).

If you could plug your cable right into it wouldn't that be skipping the high speed internet you have? 😉 You can either use internet connection sharing (I do), or you can use a router, or you can go directly from your dsl/cable modem into the xbox.

And yep you gotta give a credit card up front and they will bill it after 12 months if you don't cancel.
