Xbox live question

Can you have multiple game play accounts/names/users on 1 xbox account. Say I get an xBox live Gold membership...can I have a user profile and my son have a seperate one?

if i subscribed to Xbox live could i bring my box over to a friends house and we could play on live?

I'm assuming its based on login info? User/Pass?

I dunno, I'm going to get it when I get my xbox 360.

It's based on the Xbox, but you can save it on a memory card to bring to a friends and play.
