Xbox Live Gold Problem

My sons have an Xbox 360 and the younger son has been on live for 2 years. All is fine there.

My older son wanted to play on there with his brother, so I got him a Gold 12 month. I went on the website and redeemed the code to upgrade his free Live account to the Gold account. It shows up now as Gold on the account status on the Live website, but when he logs into the Xbox itself, it just shows his free membership. Why won't it transfer/sync and show his Gold membership?

I had that problem the last time I activated my 12 month gold card. It just took a few hours for it to register on my Xbox for some reason. It was annoying, but you should see it show up soon.

Couldn't you have entered the gold membership code through xbox 360 console?

I think that's how I did mine when I went to gold.

You can do it either way, but it was a surprise for my older son, so while I was on the computer, I just logged in and entered it. Took about 10 hours for it to cross over. That's a bunch of crap. Next time it will go in through the console.
