For those that signed up for the Fall Update preview, it is going live today.

Comes with Netflix Search (and Netflix for you Canucks), ESPN3, Zune Pass music streaming, a new audio codec for voice chat and eventually Kinect support when it is launched.

For those that didn't sign up - sorry, Microsoft isn't taking anymore applications.

Yeah, that's because of the new audio codec for voice chat. I signed up for it because of ESPN3. That's the one new feature I'm most excited about because I currently use PlayOn to stream it through my Xbox.
 
Ok this is the first i've heard about this and i'm siked about the possibility of espn3 streaming from my console. Since i haven't signed up for this and missed out on sign ups when will i be able to get it like everyone else?
 
dudes, just downloaded the beta update, and man espn3 is SWEET. between this and netflix streaming, i think i'm done with cable/satellite tv.
 
I am NOT a fan of all the fucking white! Jesus, it makes your screen like a lamp that you don't want on in the dark.
 
This is probably a dumb question, but in order to use netflix on your xbox, you first need a netflix membership right?

It's not like having an Xbox Gold membership gives you free netflix or anything right?

Yes, you need a Netflix membership to stream.
 
I needed to re-authorize my console for netflix so i didn't get a chance to try that out. ESPN3 was pretty awesome, I tried to watch the san francisco MLB game but it just stayed on the loading screen and never played. It did let me play the recorded vids just fine though.

I'm not sure how I feel about the white, but I do like that they changed the font size on the friends online/messages stuff at the top right on the dash. the Zune music UI is pretty damn sweet as well.

I just really wish they would fix the fucking lagginess of hte dash while in game. It takes way too long to send invites. At least halo does all that in-game where it is much faster.
 
The new loading circles in the dashboard remind me of the Dreamcast logo for some reason.

ESPN3 is quite cool. Looking forward to Hulu coming next year.
