Xbox Live accounts

i have xbox live gold, i have a account on my xbox 360, (GT = otispunkmeyer86)

my brother would also like have a seperate account so he may play the same games under a different name (thus seperate scores etc)

so is it possible to create another profile, then get it playing online with XBL gold?

does it need its own msn hotmail address?

or does it have to use the same hotmail adress as i have used in my profile?

i ask this because he sets up a profile on th 360, then tries to go through the proceedure of getting online via XBL, but every time he puts a email adress in, wether its been created previously by him or not, XBL tells us that the address is either not valid, or more usually some one else already registered it.

now i know some one hasnt already registered random letters and numbers by mashing the keyboard. so what is going on? why cant two seperate people get online and play under seperate names from the same xbox? its not like we are playing at the same time!

You can have multiple gamertags/Live accounts on the same 360, no problems there. But you guessed it, each Live account needs it's own passport account (i.e. hotmail), otherwise it's not going to work. Once you get it up and going, just be sure to disable auto-signin for all accounts, then you both can just log in under your respective usernames when the 360 is turned on. You can also password protect your login incase your brother feels the need to mess with your account.
