Basicly, you'll be able to grab music files from your pc and use your xbox to play them. Maybe even "properly encoded" video files.

Personally, I'd like to see it just play the songs over the network from my fileserver, not copy them to the drive. 8gb isn't all that big anymore.
 
You can already do all that and more if you mod it. Throw in an 120g hd and run all of your games straight from that too.
