my hard drive died and i just got a new one. just for kicks.. i decided to try booting the old drive and it worked. now i am thinking about backing up my saved ninja gaiden games. but i am not sure where it is saved. i was hoping there would be a folder called "saved games" or something, but i don't see anything like that. does anyone know where (which partition) my saved game data would be?
 
If I remember right your saves will be in a partition that is seperate from the F or E drive. All the game saves will be in the same partition.

i have a C, D, E, F, X, Y, & Z drives.

C is supposed to be the dash and stuff...
D is the dvd drive
E has some stuff... but it's not obvious that there is a saved games folder
F .... ? i dont know wassup with this partition. when i ftp into the xbox, if i try to access that partition, it gives me a error "550 CWD command failed: 'F:\'"
X Y Z i've read that these are cache and not usable?

so this leaves me with E. in the E:... i see two folders that might be what i need to back up. their names are Tdata and Udata. anyone know what those are?

Yes, all your game data is stored in tuser and udata on E:. Sorry I don't know the specific subdirectory for ninja gaiden.
 
all your save games are in the E:\UDATA and E:\TDATA folders.

back up all that and you'll get the gamesaves. if you can run the ms dashboard, throw a memory card into a controller and backup your savegames from the dashboard memory manager. or run a 3rd party app if your xbox can run unsigned code.

my xbox was bought modded. it had the stock hd in there, but it just refused to boot one day. so i ordered another stock hd from xbox-scene, and after it arrived, my old hd decided to live again. now i got an extra hd. woohoo!
 
all games saves are in e folder
You can just copy over the e/tdata and udata folders to the new HD.
