Xbox have 90 days warranty or a year?

Just bought a holiday bundle and the book says something about 90 day and 1 year. Also Wal-Mart tried to get me to buy a 2 year plan for $28 but that involves me sending it back to MS anyway which is kinda lame but is it worth it?

I gave $350 for this system so I would like a extended warranty. Can one be bought through MS?

What exactly does the book say? Is it a MS book or something from the store?

Last I heard it was 1 year general, 3 years RRoD.

Correct.

360's have a one year warranty and a three year warranty for three red lights.

You may purchase an extended warranty through Microsoft if you choose to do so.

I think I read it wrong, I think Accessories have the 90 days warranty. Well if the console is covered for a year I think that might be plenty. Anyone know right off how much it costs for a extended?

It's because they haven't updated it yet. And if you go to pdf form on that page, it states $40 for the extra 2 year coverage.

I was wondering if you get faster turn around time with the service contract? I have the older version 360 that I got like 2 days before they started putting elite boards in premiums. So I figure mine will RROD within the year.

Well how does the extended warranty work do you know? Would wal-mart give me something stating the extended warranty? Wonder if Wal-Mart just goes through MS and your getting the same warranty?

Store "2-year" warranties are often from date of purchase, so read the fine print to see if you're really only getting 1 extra year not 2. The MS warranty -adds- 2 years = 3 total.

Also, did you pay with a credit card that has free warranty extension? If so, you already have a 2-year warranty.

I did pay with CC but am uncertain if it has free warranty extension.

This is a common problem. A lot of CC will extend the warranty yet they never tell you. I am sure they would rather have you not know about this, but it is definately worth checking out. Saved my a$$ many times when something crapped out on me (Pun NOT intended) 🙂

Has anyone bought the 2 year warranty that came packaged with their Xbox? Do I have to send this card in or can I call or do it online? The card said send it within 10 days. But is also states a 90 day warranty.
