Yeah, I know, this sounds silly, but I have my reasons (below): are there any Xbox games appropriate for, say, a five year old girl? (please, only serious replies)

Why do I ask? Someone I know, who has a five year old, got a free Xbox. Simple enough, no?

Hmmm...cel damage might not be a bad idea, I've never played it though. There was one puzzle game that shipped with the xbox, but the name escapes me now. Shrek was released as well, but I heard it wasn't so good. Your choices are kind of few and far between at the moment for the xbox.

which is better, xbox vs gcn vs ps2? ;)
ok, just kidding.... let's not get into console wars.....

no kids around here, and i don't own xbox, so i can't comment much....
but looking from xbox game catalog, you can see what games are available, as well as some "reviews" on the games....

depending on how much "violence" (or similar things) the parents are willing to compensate for the game, i'd suggest: cel damage, crash bandicoot, jet set radio future, malice (just because the main character is a girl), loons: the fight for fame, oddworld, shrek, etc....

:)

For young kids, gamecube is most likely the best, Nintendo always does best with younglings.

You asked.

Yeah, I know Nintendo is better for kids... but when someone gets a free Xbox and asks you to help find games, what can you do? :)

my kid is 3 and is always playing Halo but I "have to be on his team". I subscribed to that official xbox magazine and he plays the demos every month. We have the dreamcast so no need to buy dead or alive, jet grind radio, spiderman, etc. He didn't like Cel Damage but did love the demo of Fuzion Frenzy (although he comes in last place there's tons of things to do and variety). Also he enjoyed Mad Dash Racing but no way I'm spending $50 on those games. The demos suffice.
