And keep a lookout for Tao Feng: Fist of the Lotus. Right now there isn't much info out there other than hype and some screenshots, but everyone agrees this game has the potential to be one of the greatest fighter games EVER! Jon Tobias of Mortal Kombat fame is heading up the project.
1. Imagine a fighting environment that's fully interactive. Are there poles in this room? Great, grab one while jumping away from your opponent, swing around and kick him in the face! That trash can isn't there just for show, is it? What bout those swords in that display case? Grab your opponent, throw him into the case, and while he's down pick up a sword and start hacking! I can go on and on about breaking through walls, windows, doors, ceilings and floors etc., messing around with fire, water, electricity, sharp objects, blunt objects, ANYTHING you can think of.
2. Imagine being able to SEE the damage you inflict on your opponents. Slashes across the face yield the appropriate scars. Blood drips ever more profusely from your victi..er..opponent's body. Hurt fighters tuck in their injured parts and move slower. When their damage meter reaches a critical point, Limb Damage begins to occur. Hear their bones break, and watch them lose their use of arms and legs!
