Xbox game recomendations?

Sorry, folks, this is my first post, so please be kind.

Ok, broke down and bought the Halo version of the Xbox this past week. Been ejoying the heck out of Halo and a Mortal Kombat game I boutht as an afterthought. My question is, are there games for the Xbox that come close to the Final Fantasy type of games? That was the ONLY reason I was considering buying a PS2 instead of an Xbox. Any suggestions would be apreciated.

Someone told me Knights Of The Old Republic was similar to Final Fantasy, but I have no clue because i've never played Final Fantasy.

KOTOR is a different type of rpg than Final Fantasy, but both kick ass

So far there is really nothing that comes to mind that is similar to FF. I would recommend the following games:

Soul Calibur II
Panzer Dragoon Orta
Cimson Skies
Splintercell

I can't really think of any turn-based combat system RPG. It's either first person RPG, third-person real-time RPG, gauntlet style RPG.

First thing you need to do is mod that sucker. Well, unless you really want xbox live that much. Or well, if you don't really need the fuctions then you don't either.

Must gets include Ninja Gaiden, PGR2, Top Spin, Halo (you already have it), and more. Be back to edit this, a user needs help at her computer.

ummm... SW:KOTOR is turn based. As are the Morrowind games on xbox.

I would also recommend Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow. It ROCKS!

To date this is my favorite game. Unfortunately I have no idea how Final Fantasy plays so I am no help there. Get the first Splinter Cell, it will keep you busy for a while.

We use different definitions of 'turn based'. KOTOR is a Baldur's Gate (PC) style game I thought. I consider those a hidden turn based system but it looks more like realtime... same with Morrowind. I meant turn based as in FF style turn based. Everyone lines up on one side, the enemy lines up on the other side (regardless of where the hell you started), and you each get to take turns swatting at random enemies. Position and how fast you can manage your resources doesn't matter.

Sorry to break it to you, but if you want RPG's like FF, then you should have gotten the PS2. I had one for a while and finished Xenosaga and FFX , both of which are awesome. That being said, however, Star Wars KOTOR is one of the best games I've ever played, period.
