So here I am hanging out in Vietnam with 220V and some extremely intelligent person plugs in my 110V Xbox to the wall plug. And smoke comes out. Obviously it does not turn on. I have opened up a Compaq and soldered the motherboard plug before. Any idea if I can fix this baby by putting in an adapter instead of buying a new one. Thank you in advance.

Blackouts, ignoring voltage differences -- sounds like it's time for you to cut back on the drinking.

Not an option but thank you anyway.

Anybody how what the difference between the xbox v1.0 and v1.6 is? Is it only the difference between AT and ATX?

Thanks for the advice anyway. I was able to find some links that led me to find out how to find the version of one's Xbox.

For those that run into such a problem, you should go to http://www.lik-sang.com and search for the xbox power supply. At the bottom of the page it has a link to xbox scene which offers a few methods to find the version. I am just hoping that the only thing that got fried in the xbox is the power supply.
