I'm put on REAL high alert here. I mean, the standard bare XBox only comes with ONE controller and here this place says two. For the naive that might mean "woo, even better!" but it makes me think maybe the deal is a sham. 229.99 HAS to be close to or below wholesale...tack on the extra 40 dollar controller and this sounds way too good to be true.

I also don't like their obvious use of a known store name to most likely lull (stupid) customers into thinking they're dealing with the mega-conglomerate...since let's face it, 95% of people aren't gonna click on the "About Us" links.

The only way this deal is for real is if these things "fell off the back of a truck." So if you do buy, use a CC with DAMNED good fraud protection.

lol "Clearence"

they cant even spell Clearance right. ill pass on this one, note how it doesnt say if the XBox was preowned or not, and some of the stuff they have is open box. worse thing that can happen is that they have ur credit card number and sell it to the russian mafia

"BestBuyDV.com has been in the business of selling Electronics for the past 20 years."

Unless they were using a Web unbeknownst to us back in the days when 300 baud modems were strange and mystical beings, I say thee HOOEY to this reseller! They also mention a retail store but give no indication of where they're geographically located besides charging sales tax in PA...who thinks it's a storage unit in South Side Philly? Got any takers?

Also, I judge an "unknown" site by its design...and this one's is ABYSMAL. They should really take the money they most likely are gonna rip off from people on these XBoxes and buy (or burn!) a copy of Photoshop 6 to trim those horrible jaggies on their images.

And before I hit "post," I should just point out that, "Questions? Just crink your head to a horribly unhealthy angle to read our 1-877 number!"

wow, they cant spell "Clearance"

they have a hotmail e-mail for registration at "registrar4less.com"

if anybody wants to experience their first credit card dispute, here is your chance. good luck.
maybe they should rename themselves to kmartDV, since kmart would be too poor to sue them for copyright infringement

here is what the one post at reseller rattings said

"ALMOST made a mistake by ordering from this company... Found their website while surfing, and after finding 2 separate street addresses, but no actual commments from customers, I decided to call directly and get some background information. "Alex" kept wanting to know what digital camcorder i was interested in, even though I kept telling him i knew all about it, but wanted to know about their operation. He stumbled when trying to spell the city they were located in (near Philadelphia, he said, although I cannot find his city on the map), even though he claimed they had been in business for 20 years. Evaded my questioning him on any listings with the BBB or similar organizations, and then told me if I didn't want to buy from them, fine, it was the holiday season and they didn't need my business! All I wanted to know was a few simple things about their "store." Red flags went off everywhere in my mind... would rather give my credit card number to someone on a NY street corner. Stay away!"

Has anyone looked, do their other prices look "too good to be true" as well? Just wondering. I don't keep up on the latest camcorder and laptop values, so I can't tell...

I was almost willing to give it a try...I got Amex blue and I figured, what the heck, the have online fraud protection, so a $230 dispute isn't a big deal to them. And filing one dispute isn't too much of a hassle for me. But then I thought about what would happen if they wanted to use my credit card number to fund their big "going out of business" sale in a few weeks. "Everything 1/2 off retail because we got it for FREE!"
Seriously, I was going to do it, one possible (probable) dispute is fine, but if they sold or stole my # I'd be up many nights with new charges I have to dispute, and then have to go thru the pain in the @$$ of cancelling the card to get a new one. UNLESS, that is, someone tells me how to do one of those one time use #s with AMEX blue...does Amex blue have that feature? If they do, I need someone to tell me how the heck to do it and I might give it a go. Who knows, if I'm lucky, maybe they'll send me somethin, even if it's used. If so I can just buy a new one from BB and return the used one. I have a score to settle with them (no, not about that Geforce4 thing, although that sucked, too).

Well, I live about 5 minutes from that Collegeville,PA address. To my knowledge there's nothing in that area that could support an operatoin like they got going on their website. I called the number and asked them where their store was because it says they have a store in the about us page. The guy tells me that they don't have a store, they do have one for computer networking but it doesnt have anything to do with the BestbuyDV.com. So much for going and picking some up. My take on this is that it's just a price error. The site seems like a lot of work just to try and con a few people on the Xbox price since about the rest of the prices look real. The PS2 price is 279 so you figure they took $20 off the retail price of the Xbox and goofed on the 3 by making it a 2.

Like I said, I'd be more than willing to do it if someone showed me how to make a 1 time payment # so that I don't end up having dozens of disputes to make. I have AMEX blue

Badluck: Lock this crap

Now I see how you got your post count to 2000+ Thanks for your valuable input and contribution to this thread. We couldn't have done it without you.

Don't worry Chris, this is why I'm asking about the 1 time use #...only 1 dispute to file, not 100. Makes it easier on me. By the way, I did order, and I never saw the "s" after the "http" to indicate that it was secure...even though they claim it is a SSL site on the side. I'm about 85% confident that in a month I will have a dispute to file with Amex.
