Xbox Cd in a computer

Ok, I've been wondering this question for a couple weeks now. What happens if you put a X-box
Cd in a Pc's cd-rom? can you see the file structure or is it unreadable?

Its a DVD-Rom, not a cd-rom so a normal cd won't see it. Not sure about a DVD drive though.

I just put Halo in my DVD drive.

To my surprise the XBOX logo appeared, then a cool green explosion, similar to the startup screen on the xbox.

Then this message appears in several different languages.

"This is an xbox game disk, please put it in your xbox to start playing"

In windows explorer, all it shows on the disk is a single folder called.
VIDEO_TS

With the following files.
VIDEO_TS.bup 12kb
VIDEO_TS.IFO 12kb
VIDEO_TS.VOB 78kb
VTS_01_0.bup 12kb
VTS_01_0.bup 12kb
VTS_01_1.VOB 11,924kb

And as IamDavid already said, my PCs cdrom cant read the disk at all.

MTDEW, that's dvd-video files. That means that the green explosion isn't rendered by the X-box but just is a video-file. All the files you mentioned have dvd-video characteristic filetype names, so the only thing you can read is the dvd-video part of the disc, it looks like there's a dvd-video part of the disc that pc's can read and a part of the dvd where the game-data lies which can't be read by a pc.
This sounds like there must be some kind of two-type dvd-format, which does not sound too promising for a X-Box emulator (had hoped that I could get one soon and then import US X-Box games before it's out in Europe) since the pc doesn't seem able to read the game part of the dvd.

When I was in eb buying wolfenstein the genius behind the counter said that one was released 2 weeks before the release of xbox.
