Alex and Kate, for now probably the only kids in Canada to have tried out both GameCube and Xbox, are divided on which is the better console. Alex likes the characters and graphics of the Nintendo system. Kate leans toward the Xbox, saying she likes the Microsoft game controllers and the Saturday-morning cartoon graphics of Cel Damage. "They're gonna be big."

The split prompts a shrug of resignation from their mom, Hewon Yang. "Maybe we'll get both," she says.

Good for them. Too bad they can't drive a car, buy their own video games, or get drunk in Vegas. I still like my pitiful life better.

I played them at E3, though neither were "release quality", the Nintendo one really seemed like it was. The xBox seemed like a slowish computer. (Isn't it?)

Geez I wish my mom was like that back in the day of NES, SNES, Genesis, etc. I would've killed to have both Genesis and SNES. I would've been the coolest kid in my school!

Yes. They were running on XDK's, not the actual box.

I can barely afford a controller let alone both consoles. I'll just leech off of my friends till I have the money.
