"Xbox 720" will not be the name of the next Xbox for obvious reasons.

It's been a rumor for a while now that it's gonna be Xbox 8. It makes waaay more sense than Xbox 720. Microsoft is trying to push Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8 and this whole ecosystem. The next Xbox will run a Metro style UI. Not to mention 8 CPU cores, 8GB of ram, 800Mhz GPU.

And it would sell a billion units in China if they just throw an 8 in the name.

brilliant.

Itll have something to do with Infinity

Xbox Infinity

They are mad at comcast because of xfinity

Also, the new xbox logo will have the x slightly bent/skewed to resemble an infinity sign.

PayPerPlayBox?

Because that is how I see these devices nowadays.

I am surprised that consoles haven't yet adopted the business model of all games are free (but buying life/health/1ups/ammo costs money - ARCADE STYLE!)

What arcade lets you play games for free? Every arcade I've been to you have to pay upfront and every time you want to continue.

played on 360 though because the controller is a million times better.

this is probably the most hilarious thing I have read here on Anandtech forums. The controller is the absolute sole reason that I decided to get a PS3. I can't afford to purchase a new controller every other week due to them wearing out, so I went with PS3. And I have Ni No Kuni, though I've never heard of it or played it.. is it really that good?

How many xbox controllers have you gone through though? I'm not saying the PS3 controllers are indestructible, but the xbox joy sticks get sloppy and rather quickly.

i have absolutely no idea wtf you are talking about about controllers wearing out. ive had 2 360 controllers since launch, and 2 ps3 controllers since launch. except, i don't think ive EVER played a ps3 game 2 player, so my 2nd controller probably has never been used.

oh and then i have 2 joysticks i built that work on both consoles.

All of the 360 controllers I have have sloppy joy sticks, like the old school Nintendo 64 controllers got. I've tried all the mods and everything to get them back into shape. No such issues with the PS3 controllers.

It will be called the Xbox 720 because when facing it you will turn around 720 degrees and walk away.
