It is, but you have to download a small bit of data to do it for each game. This is probably aimed at people with modded xboxen.

Or aimed at stupid/ignorant people. I remember one of the retail stores (Circuit City or Best Buy) offering a service to upgrade the backwards compatibility on 360s....

Yeah... stupid/ignorant people, and people with slow Internet. The data on the disc is a 13 MB download from xbox.com. I remember downloading a 22 MB game demo on dial-up. :Q And the game sucked.
