Xbox 360 Wireless Network Problem?

I have a 360 with the USB MS wireless adapter. I have a D-Link DIR 615. I have had my xbox connected to xbox live for months, with a gold subscription.

I came home the other day from work and the power had gone out temporarily at the house (this happens from time to time for no reason, maybe once every couple months). I could tell because the clocks were all wrong.

Everything works (including internet on computer)... Xbox 360 says it can't even detect a wireless connection? I unplugged by xbox and it didn't help?

Please help!

Thank you, James

I already pushed the button in the back of my router to reset it. I powered up / down the 360 & ran the test. It just stops on step 2 (doesn't see the network). The network magic program that came with my router still shows the 360 but shows it offline.

The light on the back is a steady red light (waiting for network connection).

- Are there any other wireless devices on the network to test to make sure your wireless network is properly functioning?

- Can you log into the routers web console and make sure the settings are correct and didnt (for whatever reason) change.

- This might be a great opportunity for you to upgrade your routers firmware to the lastest version. Sometimes upgrading firmware can squash bugs and add features.

When you reset the router, did you change any wireless security settings that no longer match what you have in your 360's wireless settings?

I've had this problem as well. I looked at the MS wireless network adaptor and noticed in my situation that the light on the adaptor wasn't even on. So then I proceded to unplug the USB connector and plug back in until the light on the adaptor came back on this took several attempts probably 10 times or so. I am assuming it is some sort of issue with the Xbox itself and not the adaptor. That is where I would start. Make sure the light on the adaptor is on and if not try the USB trick.

happened to me last week when the power went out. You need to go to network settings at the dashboard and then select the SSID again and reenter any encryption info. Then you have to run the "test" xbox live connection
