I was disputing your point. The main problem with Vista/Win7 driver issues usually boils down to signed drivers. The binaries here ARE signed - they are Microsoft's own files. Only the INF is different.

In short, drivers shouldn't be a problem, though I have had to correct the INF files to match the USB hardware IDs that were slightly altered from Microsoft's own hardware. Otherwise, the dongle is identical and USES THE SAME BINARY FILES.

yup ive done this with many bluetooth dongles too

and because they are knockoffs they can be a hassle installing - especially in win7 64bit

I'm assuming I'd have to "reconnect" to either one if I want to switch off but figured hey, why not ask.

Just a reconnect sequence. I actually comandeered one of our controllers to use full time on my PC.

What worked for me is that I went to Microsoft Catalog Update in IE and typed in xbox wireless and downloaded the wireless update driver. Worked like a charm.
