Xbox 360 Warranty Extended to 1 Yr

As much crap as MS gets they atleast try to take care of the customer.

I've been burned by Sony a few times with the C-13 problem (DVD players with known flaw that sony basically said "screw you") and then a problem with the playstation. All three times Sony didn't give a crap.

Good move and glad they're doing this.
 
My bro had his 360 repaired a month ago. It crapped out after the fall dashboard update (not sure if it was related but who knows). Guess this means he gets a refund??

My first 360 died in September but I was under warranty so I'm ok and my second 360 has been perfect ...so far.
 
I am glad to here this. This means I am good for 2 years since my credit card doubles the warranty 🙂

What about those people who bought extended warranties from microsoft (extend to 2 years?)

Kinda figured this. They were somewhat doing this (fixing out of warranty 360s for free, well they charged shipping) already but not officially. My friend's 360 crapped out a month or two ago, it was out of warranty, but he said they were still fixing it for free. Then he got it back (or a refurb, don't know details).. think all he had to do was pay shipping there. I thought he was just lucky they did his out of warranty for free, but I'm glad they officially announced this.
