XBOX 360 Video Lag on Samsung 610 LCD TV?

Not sure if this is the right forum for this post but:

I own a 46" Class (45.9" Diag.) 610 Series 1080p LCD HDTV (2010 model). My XBOX 360 is hooked up to it via HDMI. When I play my games though, I'm noticing that (especially during video sequences) the images are really laggy and the shading is incredibly poor. Basically it makes the image quality look very "blah". I at first thought it was maybe poor graphic engineering on the development side but it isn't isolated to one game, I've seen it with several. The settings on my XBOX 360 are set to 1080p so I'm assuming its a setting on my TV thats causing this lag? Anyone have any ideas or experience with this same issue? Thanks in advance!

Just curious - are you sure the HDMI port you are hooked up to is 1080p? At least on the slightly older TV's - it was only certain ports.

Are some games better than others though?
The reason I ask is because I've never really noticed that on mine, UNTIL I tried Fable 3 recently. That game looks so weird, laggy like hell all the time with significant ghosting. Every other game in my collection looks sharp and fast like a computer monitor.
Not sure why Fable does that.

most HDTV's have lag in general, both audio and video. i haven't heard of it causing actual image quality loss though, just that there is a slight lag (we're talking like milliseconds) from when you input to when stuff happens on screen. rockband 2 actually has a test for this.

I maybe said it wrong, it isn't laggy. The edges of the images tend to be jagged and low quality especially in shading.

Not all games are created equal. FF12 for instance has roughly half the resolution of FFX on the PS2 to achieve a higher poly count. FF12 looked better then X on small screens while X faired better then 12 on large ones. The 360 games are not exempt in the resolution bullshitting either sadly. Microsoft mandated 720p, but you see titles all the time trying to "game" the system, so to speak.

Halo 3 for example isn't actually being rendered at 720p natively but is actually being run at a lower resolution, upscaled to 720p. If you're using a 1080p tv Halo 3 and games like it will be seeing the 360 stretch the pixels even more. This is just a shot in the dark though. The cause for your situation could be for any number of reasons.
