Xbox 360 VGA output and LCDs

Looney

Lifer
I don't know if it's my 360 or not, but when i'm using the VGA cable to an LCD (i've tried it on my Dell 2407 as well as Westinghouse 42w2), what looks like horizontal lines scrolling from the bottom of the screen to the top. I've used 2 different VGA cables, one i got cheap off ebay, and the Madcatz one.

Anybody have any clue as to the problem and solution?

And BTW, is it just me, or how the hell do you get into the xbox forums (the official one)? I go here http://www.xbox.com/en-US/community/forums/?WT.svl=nav but i keep going in circles.

To use the Xbox forums you have to login with your .NET passport and register from there. As for your issue, personally I only use component cables with my Dell 32'' W3201c so I'm not sure but you might want to try the official Microsoft cables, or another quality manufacturer such as Monster, or something. Since you've only tried MadCatz and a cheap one off of eBay, it could be that it's just bad cables. The XBox forums might be able to enlighten you, though.

Ok, i still can't figure out how to login to the xbox forums.

I thought about buying something higher quality, but this is just a VGA cable. I really can't see why it needs to be something fancy. But i'll ask around and see if anybody i know has the official or Monster cable so i can try it out.

Well, i figured out why i kept going in circles:

Q: So what's going to happen exactly? What's it going to look like for me?

A: The vast majority of Xbox.com is fully functional. However, if you try to connect to My Xbox on Xbox.com, you will see a "Page Not Available " page. If you hit the Forums, you?ll be redirected to the home page. Don't freak. It's not your account, your computer, your browser, or your ISP. It's us.

Glad to know i'm not crazy.
