Its the same as Intel's core i5 and i3 processors. They just glued the CPU and the GPU together. It's nothing like what Intel and AMD are doing with SB and Llano.

The OP is correct, it really is a monolithic CPU/GPU (i.e. yes they did beat Fusion). The MCM'ed part is the embedded dram.

It is EXACTLY what Intel and AMD are doing with SB and Llano... Copy-paste a GPU core onto the die.

Thing is, with the XBox, there never was a dedicated video card anyway. They were always sharing video memory between CPU and GPU, so copy-pasting both onto a single die didn't make a difference (neither in the positive nor the negative sense).

If I'm not mistaken, the eDram part was always MCM'ed on the GPU package in the XBox.
