XBOX 360 SALE UP by 20x in japan

everyone always said it just took a title or 2 for Japan to jump on board. At lunch they had few to little titles that appealed to Japan.

Indeed. They had a launch lineup that totally did not appeal to anyone over there except for Ridge Racer and Dead or Alive. What was microsoft thinking launching a console there with games like Call of Duty 2, King Kong, Need for Speed, sports games (only baseball and soccer games sell there)..etc. Did they think those games would appeal to gamers there??

If they were to ever able to secure an exclusive and high quality Final Fantasy or Dragon Quest game they will probably see similar spikes in 360 sales. No reason why they can't get an exclusive game in any of those series..just pony up the dough and they have plenty. Virtua Fighter 5 could sell well for the rabid fanbase there but now I think its a PS3 exclusive. Not sure what other games would sell big there though.


There is that upcoming rpg from one of the Final Fantasy creators coming soon right?? I remember some great video of it shown at the Tokyo Game Show. Lost Odyssey I think is the name. Lets see how that does.
 
Well i hope Microsoft understands that they need Japanese Exclusive RPG not crapy EA games , FPS and stupid games like 99 Nights . Hironobu Sakaguchi did make PS1 the killer platform with his Final Fantasy 7. I hope he can do it with Blue dragon and Lost oddyssey.
 
RPG is the main staple for Japanese gaming. Any console devoid of such will be doomed in Japan. Hopefully Microsoft should take a hint by now.

Lost Odyssey and that Eternal Sonata are the next big RPGs for the 360. MS better hope they have more in the pipeline to sustain this than just Blue Dragon, Lost Odyssey, and Eternal Sonata.
 
The biggest problem with Xbox 360 is majority its games are available for PC. Of course it doesn't help that Microsoft is inherently related to PC. Sometimes, this will deter potential buyers from buying one if they own a capable PC. MS needs to distinguish X360 from PCs and have more good console games available, especially more Japanese made games.

I disagree. I think both the PC and Console should bring out more quality games.

Touchy subject - but you're right. Rationally it's more than possible.We drive Hondas and Toyotas. I was speaking lightly.
