Xbox 360 repair question

I got the E74 error, I'm sending it back to Microsoft for repair(not under warranty). My question is, will they send me mine back or a different console. The reason I'm asking is I'm having problems with the disc drive sticking ( not wanting to open)and I'm hoping I get a different console back. Or should I call them back and tell them the disc drive has problems also? Will they replace both parts for the $99.00 charge???

There's a good chance you'll get a different console. I've sent two consoles in and gotten a different one back each time.

The only time I sent mine back I received a different console. The one I received back looked almost brand new.

i've had both happen to me, even had them fix a modded one of mine, with the warranty seal broken, and they sent it back to me, still modded, but it had a new warranty seal on it heh.

i've also had 1 other one returned to me that was the same one i sent, and 2 that were different consoles.

I'm thinking about calling them and asking them if they will fix the drive also or send me a refurb. Thanks for the replies.

Oddly enough on my drive sticking problem it turned out that a rubberband had gotten a bunch of dust caked to it. When the wheels would spin to open and close the door it just didn't get traction the first couple of times. I followed a guide off of youtube and removed the rubberband very carefully with just the cover off and it fixed my problem.
