The dvd-rom on my 360 sometimes opens randomly during games and movies. Its a bit stick and requires me to give it a little push to get it to go back in sometimes. Also sometimes it won't open, I have to kinda pull down on the face plate to 'unstick' it so it will come out.

Anyone have a similar problem? Know if MS warranties this or if there is an easy fix for it? I can deal with it for now, but I have a feeling it is only going to get worse :(

I had this on one of my 360s. Happened when I took off the faceplate and didnt replace it properly.

It's covered by the 1-year warranty but not the 3-year RRoD. Repair cost is $99 and you can't replace it yourself (easily) since the drive has custom firmware.

Some credit cards double manufacturer warranty, you might check your CC terms to see if yours does.

Edit: after you check Oyeve's suggestion of course.

Oyeve, what did you do to fix it?
I think the implication here was that he reseated the faceplate and that this fixed the problem.

To make sure that's the issue on your end, try taking off the faceplate period.
