I have an Athlon64 3500+ clocked at 2.5ghz with an X1800XT 512mb card. It plays every game I can throw at it just fine (obviously). Now, I do console game a little but prefer to play on my computer due to the keyboard+mouse combo and just because I like it. I had the chance to purchase an XBox 360 Premium for $313 shipped from Overstock and I jumped on the deal. I had no intentions before of purchasing it but figured if I changed my mind by the time it got here I could ebay it and make $60-$70. I do have a brand new Hitachi 51" CRT HDTV and my father-in-law has a 360 with a lot of games that he'll let me borrow. With that, do you guys think it's worth it for me to keep this system or should I just sell it. I mean, technically speaking, me NOT selling it costing me $370-$380 (what I could get for it off ebay). I'm also not sure about it staying at $400 with the Wii and PS3 coming out.

So, with that, is this system really worth keeping or should I just stick to my PC? Also, I've read the 360 has an X1900XT equivalent ATI chip with three PowerPC 3.2 ghz processors. Is this true, and how fast is it in computer terms?

Thanks!

Yeah, stick with the 360. I'm just waiting for Gears of War and Mass Effect. The PC version will come out...eventually (or maybe not at all).

As for 3 processors...yes. The Xbox website says its a "three-core CPU, each running at 3.2 GHz." As for the graphics card...ugh...no idea.

One thing I should ask though...are you going to play on Xbox Live? If not, I don't think it's worth investing in a 360 then, in my opinion.

I'd have to agree with Kromis. Xbox Live definitely makes the system. You can always find someone to play with, and Xbox Live Arcade is great if you like classic games and creative new ones. I say keep it; you got a great deal on it.

Great deal on the X360. I'd definately keep it (if I didn't already have one ;) ) As dali said, Live definately makes the system.

You can use Xbox Live for free with the silver membership.

You will be able to download games and stuff, just no online play.

Well...I would still keep it. It's a very good console. Mass Effect for the win!

I would keep both. There's some exclusive titles for both systems.

And really, XBox Live Gold really does make the system; it's one of the huge selling points, and for a good reason.

Even though I like the XBox, the PC version of Halo was decidedly better than the XBox one. This usually happens to all the XBox/360 ports to PC. I, myself, wouldn't get a console in anticipation of only one game that's coming out in a year. And compared to the quality FPS's available on PC, Halo is a lackluster series.

Well

Bioshock << best Game i saw at E3 , no trailer but it was shown on running on XBOX 360 and every one that saw loved the game Systemshock creator
Halo 3
Gears of War << i played at e3 , multiplayer was totally awesome and i loved the part where i chainsaw some other dude and his blood was splashing all over my screen
Masseffect << watch the trailer http://masseffect.bioware.com/downloads.html (creator of neverwinter night , kotor , baluder gates )
Lost Planet
Ninja Gaiden 2 << BEST OF ITS KIND
Blue Dragon << creator of Crono cross , Final Fantasy 7 working on this
Lost Odyssey << creator of Crono cross , Final Fantasy 7 working on this
Darkness << creator of Riddick escape butcher bay , these developers are new and its their second project and riddick is one of my fav FPS
Resident Evil 5
forza 2
GTA 4
Burnout 5

XBOX live arcade : Contra , Street Fighter 2 , Mortal Combat 2 , Smash TV , robotron , Gemotery Wars ect

Its not like XBOX 360 doesn't have games like most of you thinks

I have a ATI Crossfire setup with latest Intel Processor Conore E6600 @ 3.4Ghz , I do play on my xbox 360 but at the moment killer title ain't really out but for few exception like Graw , Rockstar Table Tennis. Good games will start to come out when PS3 is launched.

If you do end up buying an XBOX 360 get these XBOX games because they are good and only cost like $10 at eb :
Ninja Gaiden Black << one of all time fav game
Price of Perisa 1/2/3 < xbox game , comptiable
Halo 1/2 << finish them for sake of knowing what Halo 3 story line is about
Dream Fall longest journey << has an awesome story
Kotor 1 and 2 if you haven't played them on pc ..

I would recommend more but XBOX 360 backward compatibility isn't great. here is the list http://www.xbox.com/en-US/games/backwardcompatibilitygameslist.htm

Ohh also if you haven't played burnout revenge :( than you really need to buy that game because its the best Driving Arcade type game ever created. Really really good :! i am not driving fan but this game is so fun.
