Xbox 360 overheating issue fixed...

Well, as some may know, I'm from Brazil, and here, as 360s are quite expensive, people come out with crazy ideas very often to avoid (and solve) the red lights problem...

But a guy from one of my local forums discovered a solution that fixed nothing more, nothing less than 26 360s from users that weren't working. Simply unbelievable.

Easy to do, and seems to work.

umm, isn't eraser material an insulator? wouldn't it make it hotter because air does a better job at transferring heat?

I don't see how this could possibly work. Wouldn't the eraser melt?

This has nothing to do with fixing overheating 360s - in fact, this creates overheating 360s - this "fixes" ones that have slightly lifted traces on the motherboard by pressing them back into contact.

Of course, adding extra pressure increases stress, which will make it break more terminally in the future ... but who cares, right? :roll:
