http://www.engadget.com/2010/08/15/new-xbox-360-hacked-to-play-backup-discs-public-release-under/

If you're looking for video proof of the latest and greatest Xbox 360 firmware mod, you won't find it in the video after the break, but we're almost willing to take it on Team Xecuter's word and long-standing reputation that they've hacked the new Xbox 360. Banding together with Team Jungle and commodore4eva -- the hacker who brought backups to the original console in 2006 -- the group says they've successfully patched the DVD drive to play burned discs. Better still, they're promising that a public release of said patch "will be available shortly" to help you unlock a Stealthbox by your lonesome. Just remember, kids, circumventing DRM isn't always legal, even if you're copying games that you bought right off the shelf.

I thought this was already possible. Or did it used to require a hardmod?

It was possible on the old style xboxs, but has never been possible on the new slims until now. New drives and such means new firmware hacks needed.

If I got a new Xbox for free somehow I'd probably mod it. I am still curious as to if there is an HDD swap out yet. A coworker of mine said MS is manufacturing their own HDDs so it was impossible, but I find that hard to believe.

that is a totally different issue and i honestly don't know, havent liked mw2 in a long time.

but jtagged 360's have the old dashboard on them, pre-NXE so there is no way they can get on xbox live.

how are there so many hacked cod mw2 games? Or is this a different issue? I'm not much into the mod scene so I have almost zero knowledge of how they do this.

The hack on MW2 was from glitching, not actual hacking. I also believe modified save files as well, and those weren't "hacked" either.

And no, you cannot take a jtagged xbox on live.

dosent make sense, there deffinitely seems to be some coding involved with aimbots and other stuff. maybe they are installing the game on the hard drive, copying the data on their pc , hack it and put it back ?

Jtag is involved in mw2 somehow, they even call them Jtag 10th prestige lobbies.

Im sure someone can explain it on here

There is no aimbots on XboxLive. I have never seen, nor head of one. And you can call something whatever you'd like, doesn't make it true. The "Jtag prestiges" could easily be entering a game hosted by someone how has a modified game file that was made on a Jtagged Xbox. And even with that, it isn't hard to transfer game files from the HDD to my PC without the use of anything other than a sata cable and a torq 10.

Ive personally seen Aimbots and even been in a lobby where they were selling them and i was cursing the dude out till he kicked me out. my friend mike has bought an aimbot and said that it only worked for as long as his xbox stayed on, once he would shut off the xbox he would lose it.

Theres literally thousands of threads that tie the Jtag with mw2 lobbys, its a fact.

check this link out and do some reading:

http://www.google.com/search?q=Jtag...md=vdf&ei=BfZqTI-VEYG8lQfH4Ln-Ag&start=0&sa=N

you can deny Jtag being involved all you want , but you are wrong.
